Introduction to Particle-Size Distribution & Dispersion Tips of Micro-Silica Fume

Micro-silica fume is multi-size powder, partial particles agglomerate due to static force. After full ultrasonic dispersion, over 80% particles are smaller than 1 μm, average particle size ranges from 0.1-0.3 μm, specific surface area 20-28 m²/g, much finer than cement and fly ash. During on-site mixing, properly extend mixing time for even dispersion. Insufficient mixing will downgrade performance while excessive mixing should be avoided. Optimal mixing duration shall be confirmed by lab test according to additive dosage.
